With over 27 years of dedication as a freelance graphic designer from her personal studio, her portfolio is a testament to unwavering commitment and profound artistic excellence. Guenet’s creative journey began in June 1996, and over the years, she has evolved from a budding artist to a seasoned creative. Her work transcends the visual realm, capturing the imagination of audiences worldwide. As an educator, she stands at the forefront of artistic education, inspiring generations of aspiring artists through her role at UMBC.

Beyond her UMBC role, Guenet’s academic and research endeavors are highlighted by her Fulbright Scholarships for Research and Teaching, reflecting her broader commitment to the world of academia and artistry. She embarked on not one but two Fulbright journeys, from September 2017 to May 2018 and again from September 2018 to May 2019, in the vibrant city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Her experiences there enriched her own artistic spirit while serving as a source of inspiration and knowledge for countless others. Guenet’s academic foundation is anchored by her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Graphic Design from Yale School of Art, underscoring her dedication to artistic mastery and the pursuit of continuous learning.
